Even the streetlamps have a story!
For my birthday and our second anniversary, Andrew and I travelled to one of the places that we've always wanted to visit -- London! We signed up for a London city tour, which brought us to Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London, a cruise on the Thames, and the London Eye.
We had a ton of fun learning of the city's rich history from our tour guide Steve, who told us an amazing story of the Westminster lamp posts (which, unfortunately, we later fact-checked to be false). According to Steve, Coco Chanel and the Duke of Westminster were so smitten with each other that she gifted the city with lamp posts bearing both their insignias... but apparently while the fancy W's do stand for Westminster, the interlocking C's stand for city council. Bummer!
